Project: Kier / Littlewoods Fencing , Wilmington Grammar School for Girls


Eco Environmental worked with Bailey Partnership designers on the New Teaching Block and Sports Facilities at Wilmington Grammar School for Girls to specify the Sports Netting for the Rooftop MUGA. A robust netting system was required to ensure balls do not leave the area and cause damage/time loss.

Eco Environmental were specified at the start of the design process as the Supplier & Specialist Installer of such a netting system. We installed our 50mm Black Sports Net horizontally at the top of the perimeter fencing to provide an envelope to the Rooftop MUGA. The Netting was then fixed to the perimeter fencing panel steel posts using eyebolt anchor positions and supporting wires (coordinated with post positions).

Access Strategy:

Access to some of the works areas were completed by using a mobile tower. Our PASMA carded installation teams are used to working with this method of access and were able to carry out their works in a safe and secure workspace area.

Given the current Coronavirus situation and in line with our Covid-19 Risk Assessment all control measures were in place to reduce the risk – full protocols were adopted for Entering Site, Changing, Eating/Food Prep, Working, Leaving Site.


MUGA Sports Netting to either the perimeter or to cap the games area to ensure balls do not leave the area is becoming more and more  popular – any type of balls leaving the area can lead to a significant loss of time (pertinent to schools / venues) alongside potentially damage to property and harm to passers-by.
