To protect the animals and birds with a secure but open enclosure that allowed safe, free flight and uninterrupted access to roam.

Solution:

Supply & install our approved Bird Netting Systems in various gauges to areas such as the Crane and Penguin enclosures @ Whipsnade Zoo and the Tropical Bird House @ London Zoo. We have also worked in other areas of the UK installing similar netting systems.

Access Strategy:

2-man teams using ladders and MEWP; site supervisor with IPAF and Ladder Inspection training.

Requirement:

Remove existing, dilapidated system and replace with new.

Solution:

Supplied and installed our individual netting systems to each of the ponds; included zip access as standard so that the client can either reach through or climb in to the protected area to carry out routine maintenance works.

Client: Waterfront House , London

Requirement:

To prevent the existing resident birds from nesting and fouling within the Plant Areas as well as protecting the top and base of the Louvers

Solution:

Removal of the treated bird fouling; supplied & installed our approved Bird Netting using stainless-steel fixings and fittings, copper ferules and girder beam clips. Supplied and installed our bespoke weld mesh that enabled a superior aesthetic finish. Zip system allows other trades access without compromising the overall installation.

Access Strategy:

Internal access to the roof – Mobile tower erected by PASMA trained operative and used in certain areas.

Requirement:

To protect the flat roof area and deny access to nesting Seagulls and other birds that sought shelter.

Solution:

Supply & install our approved Bird Netting System above the new roof finish and attach to parapet walls. Our Bird Netting Systems consists of a stainless-steel perimeter straining cable, which often is supported by stainless steel fixings appended in various methods to the structure at regular centres. Our netting installers tension the cable using a high-quality grade stainless steel barrel strainers, wire and hog rings to complete the installation.

Access Strategy:

MEWP to access the roof and personal fall arrest systems in place.

Client: South Mead Hospital , Bristol

Requirement:

Three important criteria had to be achieved – we had to prevent crows and other birds from picking up the ballast, the system had to be anchored without penetrating the roof water proofing and the system had to be discrete. 

Solution:

Eco Environmental Services supplied CSCS carded 2-man team led by SSSTS team leader who installed our bespoke Ballast Netting kits to the affected area – these nets can be installed above head height or where a more discreet installation is required, directly on to the pebbles.

To protect the underside canopy area from nesting and roosting birds – this canopy was one of the biggest that we have worked on so far, this year.

2 X non-marking MEWP’s enabled safe access to working area.
