Eco Environmental were recently invited to offer a Bird Deterrent proposal that would protect 2No newly installed canopies from roosting birds, specifically pigeons.

The canopy framework provided excellent shelter and it was widely anticipated that local feral pigeons would begin to perch here once the canopy works were completed.

This unwanted bird activity would have led to the buildup of heavy, localized fouling presenting a serious slip hazard to all that accessed the building.

Bird fouling can be very acidic, often causing accelerated deterioration of stonework and corroding metals within commercial properties.

It was agreed that we would create a grid work of stainless steel wires that would be installed to the inside of each canopy and tensioned with barrel strainers.

A 50mm Black nylon Birdnet would then be attached to the supporting wires to prevent roosting by pigeons, we included for access to the lighting.
