Pigeon Spikes Installed as Bristol's Hengrove Park Leisure Centre Approaches Completion
Hengrove Park is a flagship leisure centre due to open in Bristol on Wednesday 29th February and promises to provide first class leisure facilities for local residents, create new jobs in the area and complement the regeneration of Hengrove Park.
As the Leisure Centre approached completion, Eco Environmental were asked to create a pigeon deterrent solution to prevent pigeons from perching and nesting on the building's ledges. We used our Birdpoint pigeon spikes to protect various areas of parapet and feature louvers along the building's elevation and so provide an effective bird control solution.
Eco Environmental's Contracts Manager David Harry secured the pigeon deterrents contract in a competitive market and ensured the works were completed with a quick turnaround within just five days of the order being placed. He commented the leading national building contractor had "done a great job on this building; it's great to play even a small part in a project like this.”
