Removal of Pigeon/Bird Fouling & Installation of Bird Proofing to the various Historic, Listed Buildings.
Apart from the obvious unsightliness, the main issue is the acids released from the Pigeon excrement. These acids can cause irreversible damage to building surfaces resulting in the scarring of building fabric as well as harming the substrate and overall appearance of the building.
Bird fouling on pavements can become slippery when wet and under foot, thereby creating a slip hazard. This can be a particular problem for any historic, listed buildings that are open to the public.
Solution
One of the easiest and most cost-effective ways in which to reduce the threat of building damage is to identify the problem bird as well as the main problem areas. Treat, clean and remove any fouling that may be in place, and then install a deterrent system such as Bird Netting or Bird Spikes, such systems will future deny the birds from accessing these areas.
