Bird Netting
Humane Bird Netting Control Systems
HUMANE BIRD NETTING
Our Bird Netting is one of the most requested control systems and when installed correctly it is a very successful deterrent system thereby ensuring that your buildings and structures are protected against all types of urban bird species, in particular pigeons and gulls.
Our humane Bird Nets are constructed from heavy duty, non-stretch, stabilised polyethylene and fully protected against the damage that can be caused by UV light.
We can supply our nets in various mesh sizes depending on the type of bird species that we are protecting against. Colour choices are black, stone and translucent. Flame retardant netting is also available in black and has a red strand running through it to denote its flame-retardant properties.
Our project managers and installation teams design and install our bespoke Bird Netting systems based on the specification either provided from site plans or a bespoke site survey.

Bird netting is a common and effective solution for keeping birds away from certain areas, such as gardens, crops, and buildings. Here’s a brief overview of bird netting solutions:
Types of Bird Netting:
- Polyethylene Netting: This is the most common type of bird netting. It's lightweight, durable, and comes in various mesh sizes to suit different bird species.
- Knotted vs. Knotless: Bird netting can be knotted or knotless. Knotted netting tends to be more durable but may be more visible. Knotless netting offers a sleeker appearance and is less likely to snag.
Applications:
- Buildings: It can be installed over building facades, balconies, and rooftops to prevent birds from roosting or nesting.
- Attenuation Ponds: Low Impact Netting and Mesh Solutions for the Aviation Industry.
Installation:
- Bird netting should be installed correctly to prevent birds from getting tangled in it.
- It can be attached to structures using hooks, brackets, or a frame system.
Maintenance:
- Inspect the netting regularly for tears or damage, and repair promptly.
- Clean the netting periodically to prevent debris buildup, which can attract birds.
Considerations:
- Cost:Bird netting can vary significantly in price depending on the material, size, and installation method.
- Visibility: Some types of bird netting may be more visible than others, which could affect the aesthetics of the area.
- Durability: Choose a netting material and mesh size that can withstand the specific bird species and environmental conditions in your area.
Alternatives:
- Visual Deterrents: Devices like scarecrows, reflective tape, or predator decoys can sometimes deter birds.
- Sound Deterrents: Sonic devices that emit bird distress calls or predator sounds may also be effective.
- Physical Barriers: Spikes, wires, or electrified tracks can prevent birds from landing or roosting on surfaces.
