Requirement:

Eco Environmental were asked by our client to assist them with their Warehouse project in Hoddesdon. We were asked to provide a range of Bird Deterrent solutions to include the removal of the built up, extensive guano as well as the installation of a securely fastened Bird Netting system.

Solution:

Our technicians removed the built-up bird fouling from the Warehouse walls by first dampening and treating the areas in question with a biocide treatment. This was carried out before and after the works to kill any bacteria and reduce dust levels prior to scraping, brushing, and bagging up the solid fouling mass.

Working from client drawings and coupled with our site survey we were then able to design a wire framework system to house our 50mm black knotted Bird Netting complete with 2mm s/s supporting wire and M6 s/s barrel strainers/turnbuckles and locking nuts – approx. 3000m2 had to be installed and securely fastened within a “live working environment” and in line with a Covid secure site.

Access Strategy:

Works on site were completed by accessing the areas safely with a MEWP vehicle controlled and driven by our IPAF trained technicians who ensured that we were able to safely complete the works in a “live warehouse environment” coordinating with other trades who were present on site.

Comments:

The team @ Eco were delighted to be working with this client especially as the initial invite to tender came to us at a time of unexpected, external circumstances.

It is only by understanding the requirements fully and liaising closely with our client were we able to complete all the scoped works on time and within budget.
