Project: Home Bargains - Byker , Tyne and Wear

Requirement:

Our client had expressed concerns relating to the roof top and parapet areas that had now become home to the urban Gulls who were nesting within the protected elements of this area including the Plant deck areas.

Given the coastal location of this Project we were asked to provide a solution to protect these areas and keep them free from nesting and breeding birds for years to come.

Solution:

We supplied and installed our approved Bird Netting System to the parapets and roof area of main building including a drop out section for the plant deck, this is supported by our posts and bases grid system that have been set out at the agreed specified distance around the perimeter, intermediate posts on the mid-section of the installation were included for added stability.

Access Strategy:

Our installation team gained access to the roof top area by using a MEWP, the latchway system, designed for fall arrest applications such as this allowed the team to work the full area of the roof and plant areas without sacrificing any degree of safety.

All our IPAF trained MEWP operators have attended a recognised operator training course and received a certificate and card listing the categories of MEWP the bearer is trained to operate.

Comments:

The client was very complimentary regarding our works on this site; it was a pleasure to work with this client who has been loyal to our business for a number of years, Eco Environmental would be delighted to assist again on future projects.
