Project: Aldi , Liverpool Road, Birkdale

Requirement:

Working closely with the CAD & Design team, Eco Environmental were asked to submit a proposal to prevent all types of Birds from roosting within the new Loading Bay of this flagship store on the Birkdale Trading Estate.

Solution:

Our CSCS and SMSTS carded installation team supplied and installed our 19mm Bird Netting System to the underside of the roof and the vertical outside wall to deny all species of birds from perching, roosting and nesting. Our manufactured netting is UV stabilised, does not absorb water and stretch so it is chemically inert and our in-house measure accuracy enables us to cut these nets to size with minimum wastage.

The lower lights and front entrance of the store area were identified as further potential roosting areas, we supplied and installed our Eco Bird Spikes which are one of the most effective, robust systems available. They are either made from high quality UV stabilised polycarbonate plastic or 304 to 316 grade stainless steel.

Access Strategy:

External Elevations conducted from MEWP’s – all of our MEWP operators are IPAF trained.

Health and Safety law places a number of specific obligations on those providing, controlling and using lifting equipment properly. In addition to the requirements for safe design and construction, all lifting equipment should also be checked and maintained as necessary to keep it safe for use.
