Who controls the pecking order on your buildings??

The Seagull mating and breeding season will commence within the next few months and this will see the Gulls returning from their wintering sites to commence courtship with modern flat-roofed office and residential buildings providing some ideal nesting areas.

Gulls usually choose to return to the same sites year after year and build their large nests to accommodate two to four eggs per nest in April and May, the eggs then hatch around 30 days later.

The parent’s aggressive reaction to any threats to the chick increases as their investment in the chick grows, with the peak period of aggressive behaviour towards people being the period May- August.

The Team @ Eco love all types of British birds and we understand that every wild bird and their eggs in the UK is rightfully protected by law under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 however if you do not seek advice relating to lawful Gull solutions now you could end up with some unwelcomed tenants on your roofs and buildings for the next 6 months resulting in damage to M&E insulation, blocked gullies and vents.

Eco Environmental can provide bespoke site surveys that will identify correct control measures to help you mitigate your Gull problems. The law requires that certain measures are trialled or considered first. Eco can guide you through these measures to successfully control the Gull problem.
