Requirements
Having perused our website and recent case studies the Facilities Team @ Unwin’s Safety Systems Ltd made contact with Eco Environmental Services enquiring about our Seagull Deterrent Systems.
This site was having issues with Seagulls nesting on their main roof and also two other buildings on the development. The active Gulls were dive bombing the staff working outside hence the client was looking for some advice and indicative costs that would solve this problem.
We provided a competitive quotation and deliverable scope of works that would improve the safe working access for the external working staff as well as denying the Gulls from roosting and nesting on the roofs of the three buildings.
Aggressive, dive bombing Gulls can be intimidating especially when it’s the Gulls nesting season. Their razor-sharp beaks most certainly can cause injury to the people they attack and it then becomes a real H&S issue for all concerned.
Solution
Eco Environmental supplied and installed our robust 50mm Gull Deterrent System as a long-term solution to this Urban bird control issue.
Our upright supports positioned in a unique grid pattern ensured that the tensioned cable Netting system received optimum support thus providing the client with a cost effective, long term solution to their Gull problem.
Eco nets as standard are fitted with a 2-meter access zip at point of clients choosing, additional zips can be added.
Access Strategy
MEWP (IPAF trained staff) & Abseil/Rope Access (IRATA trained staff) for high level access works.
Having planned the works in advance with the client we were able to combine the use of the access equipment for all three buildings, this meant that we could pass on the savings in access costs to the client.
All of our IPAF trained MEWP operators have attended a recognised operator training course and received a certificate and card listing the categories of MEWP the bearer is trained to operate.
