New Unique nanoShell Coating for Birdnets
During the recent artic conditions that gripped Great Britain and Ireland for several weeks the new high performance nanoShell Coating applied to Eco's bird nets prevented large span nets from collapsing under the weight of the snow.
Some areas reported 24 inches of snow fall in the space of four days or less, the little snow that did form on the treated nano nets quickly disappeared. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for other nets installed by competitive bird netting suppliers; these nets had to be cut down to allow the build up of snow on them to be removed before serious structural damage and personal injury was caused.
Standard nets, especially the finer gauge 19mm and 28mm nets, are prone to snow building up to such an extent that a solid platform of snow and ice will accumulate on the horizontal netting. Within a short space of time the weight of snow overwhelms the entire net system and support framework to an extent that the entire system collapses. This not only has a huge financial effect but can be dangerous to personnel below these netted areas and lead directly to damage of equipment often requiring bird deterrent, such as expensive mechanical and electrical plant which need protection from birds.
With Eco's Nano Net, the specialist coating of nano particles saturate the netting materials inside and outside to provide complete encapsulation creating a new hydrophobic surface which will considerably reduce the amount of snow and ice that can form on the surface. This will reduce down considerably the amount of snow that can settle in heavy snow conditions. In addition when snow does settle on a nano net it will thaw a lot faster due to the conductivity of the surface once the sunlight starts to warm the net.
The gaps that are present in the polymer fibres become filled and coated with nano particles which prevent water, algae and salts from being able to transit into the fibres and cause structural damage. It is these performance features in addition to the high quality pure natural ingredients within the coating that make it durable and resilient to the elements for many years to come.
Under normal weather conditions our protective nano coating is expected to last for up to 20 years before it will start to break down with no harm to the environment what so ever.
