Abseiling Team Completes Pigeon Netting Installation

Our bird deterrent experts in Wales and West recently used roped access methods to complete a Bird Control contract as part of a larger construction project.

Working in Swindon, the bird deterrent works originally involved powered access provided by The Main contractor to install and replace a Birdnet pigeon netting system at height to a multi-storey building.

When our bird control team arrived to carry out the deterrent work, it was quickly established that a hoist would not safely access all of the areas. The areas outside of the reach of the machine posed access problems as no other powered access could safely reach these other areas. Nevertheless, these problems did not prevent our specialist pigeon deterrent team from completing the work.

Our bird netting installation team is also fully IRATA abseiling qualified. The team simply returned to their van, collected their abseiling equipment and ropes, set up their safety lines and so quickly gained safe access to these areas outside of the reach of the hoist.

The client was suitably impressed and Eco's pigeon deterrent team completed the work on the day and without any additional expenditure for the client.
