2011 Season of Seagull Deterrent Systems Successfully Completed
David Harry, Contracts Manager for the Midlands and West, comments "It's been another good year for our clients. Our seagull deterrent systems contracts have all been successful in reducing the large numbers of seagulls that existed on these sites at the start of the season.”
This has eliminated the problems of bulk fouling, dead birds and nesting material building up on the roofs of these premises throughout the breeding season, leading to costly drainage problems and water ingress for the building owner and manager
In addition, the fact that the seagulls are unable to nest means the birds do not become aggressive as they hatch and bring up their young. This eliminates the danger of seagulls attacking customers and workers at those businesses where we are undertaking natural falconry and nest removal programs.
This form of bird control programme is not only highly successful and avoids any harm to the birds but can be very cost effective on large premises where the cost to install a deterrent system such as the anti bird netting Birdnet on a large roof area can often be prohibitive.
